Finding Myself
I mean what I say when I say it. It's when I say something without knowing what I truly mean to say that I say something I don't mean... You know what I mean? Of course you don't. What am I saying?

I never change my posts. Once they're up, they're up for good. Sometimes I don't like what I've written, sometimes I do. Either way, I do think about it. Not always while I'm writing it to the extent I should, but certainly afterwards. In fact, I think a lot about what I say here (Check out Seven Minutes if you don't believe me). That's one of the reasons I write these things. It brings my thoughts out into the open so I can think about them. And that's what I've been doing the last few days. Thinking.

Yesterday marks the height of my confusion, trying to answer questions like: Who am I? Why am I here? and What do I want? I'm still very much confused. I'm perpetually confused. But now my choices seem a bit more clear, and I can at least make sense of some of my thoughts.

That's all I'll say for now, though, because I'm not sure what I'm saying.

Still...
I'm still sick. No point in staying home, though, 'cause... I'm already here.

Programming: You'd be amazed at how much code is required just to create a blank window. Wow. And not a single variable type that I recognize. This should be fun. Anyway, it looks like I'm going to need to go back and review pointers in DOS, since they seem to be coming up a lot in Windows programming.

Buddhism and the fall of Rome are now the top contenders for the subject of my history term paper. I'm trying to find a topic in Buddhism that's specific enough for the assignment, but it's hard since I know so little about the subject to begin with. I think I'll talk to my teacher tomorrow and see if he can give me some ideas.

A couple things I'm interested in over at
Avault:

  • Blizzard has announced it's "Blizzard Classic Arcade" label under which they intend to re-release The Lost Vikings for GameBoy Advanced. Granted, I don't have a GBA, nor do I intend to ever get one, but The Lost Vikings was a very cool game, so it's good they're bringing it back.

  • Also, the new One Must Fall game has found a publisher, and that'll be out early 2003 - hopefully with a demo. One Must Fall (which is now freeware) was, for unknown reasons, the only 2D fighter I really liked.
If you're not already, you should be reading Dave Barry's column. This week's topic attracted my attention because I recall having similar thoughts while staring at a piece of 8'x6' orange painted canvas displayed in an art museum.

Quest For Enlightenment
Many before you have sought the meaning of life and have strove for enlightenment. Many have failed, a small few claim success. Today I hope to provide you with a small amount of enlightenment: a paper topic idea. Why not combine the theme of searching for oneself and the meaning of life in a paper on Buddism. In my mind these topics seem to go together perfectly. Much better than the meaning of life and the fall of rome. With this topic, you'll be able to sit around for hours thinking about yourself and actually be doing school work! What do you think? Well whatever you choose, good luck.

Your home page is addicting. Have you ever considered writing a column for the school paper? I'm sure you would be good at it. Who knows maybe you are destined to be the next Dave Berry.

Hmmmm...
Heh. And I thought I'd need to post art or something to keep you guys here. =)

Actually, when I mentioned "Why am I here?" I was mainly referring to college, but I suppose it'd be good to look into that on a grander scale, too. In any case, thank you ever so much for the enlightenment! (Everybody).

Unrelated to anything, but there was another Avault story of interest that I missed (No pun intended. Okay... maybe a little bit intended. Don't worry. You'll get it... go on... keep reading!) UbiSoft's got the license to publish the next two Myst games (See, now that was funny). This is no big surprise to anyone who's... um... me. I think I read something to that effect about a year ago. It is a little disheartening to hear it officially, though. (For those who haven't been keeping up, we hate UbiSoft. Their public relations in regards to Myst III were atrocious.) But I guess it's cool that we can expect some more Myst in the forecast (Ahaha... I kill myself sometimes. Okay. That was the last one. Really).

What I wasn't aware of, though, is that (formerly) Project Mudpie has been revealed to be Myst Online. It looks cool enough, and it has Myst in the name, but the concept just sounds silly to me. I mean, D'ni hide-and-seek? Do I really need to say anything more?

Here's another thing in the same ballpark. (Brace yourself for some seriously bad news). I got enthralled and started looking through Myst websites, reading about hide-and-seek and online mazes and such nonsense when I found THIS. (No, not that, silly. I've already posted about that). Scroll down a bit. Right. "Exile DVD Apparently Cancelled." There we have it. Those Ubi corporate numbskulls never cease to dissapoint. I didn't buy the Collector's Edition because of the promise of that perpetually delayed DVD! Once again: we hate UbiSoft.

That's what's on my mind. G'night.

Ah, you finally hit...
Ah, you finally hit your mid-teen crisis. Late bloomer I guess. Some do it without a hitch, others, like ourselves, go through a long and depressing time in our lives. Somehow, one day I just "forgot" to think about being depressed and try to find myself.... and then things just came together. It was weird. Anyway. UbiSoft is a bunch of crap. Let's find their headquarters and raid them. Keeping our hopes up and all with the DVD....geez...

Mid-Teen Crisis?
Yeah, it's always fun. It gets you confused, and just when you think you've found yourself, the identity crisis happens all over again. Just let it ride. You'll always be Raymond F. Anyway, Julie's idea is awesome, but if you think about it... it'll take forever. Lots and lots of thinking involved with that. Maybe you won't actually find yourself, but hey, at least you'll find out about how Buddhist people find themselves. And if you have plenty of time, I say to go for it. The fall of Rome is always decently interesting, provided you haven't already written an essay on that in high school already. Oh, and by the way, your website is actually very interesting. Cynicism is so addicting... who knew all the things you could do with a frozen corndog box?
