One of the Above
I took the absolute stupidest music test last week. It was one of those listening exams, where the teacher would play a bunch of sound clips, and we'd need to identify the composer. These sorts of things, I have found, are normally not that big of a deal. Sound clips, for one, are not excessively difficult to memorize and identify on their own, and his tests are multiple choice.

A multiple choice quiz like this certainly makes it easier to match composers to their works, but it still requires some studying of the selections. Most of the time, anyway.

For this last music identification quiz, we were given a study guide beforehand letting us know what pieces and composers to know. At the beginning of the next class, he handed everyone a quiz and started getting things organized to play the selections. By this time, nearly everybody had a chance to look over the test, and most of the students started filling in answers. Now, this would normally be somewhat odd, since the teacher hadn't actually played any of the music we were to identify.

On this particular quiz, each question had four possible composers to choose from. And, for every question, only one of those possible composers had been listed on the study guide. In fact, most of the other composers, I had never even heard of. Had he at least thrown in some names that he'd mentioned in class, it may have added a little spice. I had the whole thing finished before we even started. And so did a whole bunch of other people, I'd guess. I was tempted to just walk up to the front, hand my test in, and leave right then, but better judgement seems to have gotten the better of me. So we all just sat there, waiting for him to play through all the sound clips. Finally, the professor announced that he would be advancing to the last sound clip, and everyone almost immediately jumped up to turn in the quiz.

Cheers
I have, as you can probably see by now, gone through with at least one of those projects that I vaguely mentioned the other day, although probably not one of the ones I should have been working on. As wonderfully decorated as my suite is, what with the Jack Skellington lights around the kitchen window and string of lights bordering our Sparklets advertisement, it seemed like there was something missing. So I decided to add some Christmas cheer to my virtual home, too.

Alias is getting good again. At first I thought it might just be because I was watching them in chunks of two to three episodes at a time, and that may certainly have had an effect, but their has definitely been a raised standard in regards to episode structure, too. Now, an episode may carry on into the next because its story simply cannot be told within the time constraints of one episode, whereas they used to actually go out of their way to cut an action sequence between two episodes. I'm glad, because I like that show.

Pretty Lights
Wow, that must've taken some time. It looks great though : ) On a completely unrelated note, I never knew you considered your cats as technically 'people,' but okay...I guess it makes sense : P

Cats are people, too
[Comment edited 12/16]

I added that, of course, in case any of my cats ever want to post a comment. =)
