Problem Solving
I was walking over to history this morning in the rain. It was really only sprinkling, but it had apparently been like that for some time, because everything was already wet and there were puddles all over the place. Then, just out in the middle of the sidewalk, I noticed a large yellow sign proclaiming "Warning! Wet floor." Really. Has society as a whole gotten stupid enough that we need to put these things out on every rainy street, now? It just goes to show how often we get rain out here, I guess.

My political science teacher, not to change the subject, or anything, seems to have given up on PowerPoint. He's now found a program that is (supposedly) even easier to use. This one, he says, lets him advance to the next slide. That must have been a feature Microsoft forgot to include in PowerPoint, I guess.

I came into class this morning, and he was going about setting up the computer. That was fine with me. I actually like it now when he does these stupid presentations, since vocabulary is apparently the only alternative - and that actually requires a degree (however minor) of active concentration. So in my mind, a poorly executed slide show is a big step up.

But really, it makes no difference to me. Now I just doodle through the class regardless of what he decides to do. I used to be discreet about it. I'd scribble in the margins of the paper I was supposedly taking notes on, or slip another piece of paper underneath. Not anymore. Now I just pull out my whole sketchbook and go at it. It's not like he notices. That still absolutely amazes me. There's only like fifteen of us there, too - often less, when people go on extended 'bathroom breaks'. Sometimes people leave the classroom and just sit outside the door waiting for the class to end. No joke. Apparently, it's not as boring out there.

This particular day, he fired up the computer before class and the keyboard wasn't responding or something. So he called some tech guy. We, while waiting for him to arrive, passed the time waiting by discussing the possible after-effects of our current war with Iraq. Haha. Just kidding. No... we used that time to go over some of the vocabulary terms for the chapter.

The tech guy finally arrived, briefly diverting us from our agony, and promptly fixed the problem with the computer. "What did you do?" asked my political science teacher. The tech guy picked up the huge toolbox he had brought. I imagine he had supplies to fix any number of complicated computer problems. He looked at my teacher, dead in the eye. His sober expression didn't even waver as he responded. "I restarted it."

I love the internet
I can't even imagine what a pain in the posterior it would've been to study for my history test without it. I love In-N-Out, too, but I've already covered that. Anyway, between studying for history and drawing, I haven't had much room for anything else this week - hence the general lack of posting here.

Sketchbook. I've got a few more self portraits up. Here's
Yesterday's and today's. A self portrait a day is really eating up my time.

Parallel Universes. Well go figure. Somebody has gone and published an article that support my parallel universe theory. This one seems just a bit more researched than my little Philosophy Club bit, but it's the same idea. That's right. Just remember you heard it from me first.

Presented in technicolor
Sketchbook. Celebrating one week of daily self portraits. If you missed the last few, you'll just need to check them out for yourself. For today, I wanted to try something a little different.

Honda Ad. Watch this. It's a rather amazing TV ad. Here's some additional information.

One more thing
I'm going home for this Easter weekend. My uncle's Easter egg hunt is this Saturday evening (4/19). Any of you are certainly welcome to help with that. Just let me know soon if you want to. We're going over at 4:30pm to fill eggs, and the kids'll be there by 7:30pm. We'll be going over to my uncle's probably around 3:00-3:30ish. Then at 4:30pm, we'll meet over at whoever's house it is where the egg hunt will be to stuff the eggs. The kids'll be there by 7:30pm. It'll be fun. Please come. =)

Question: Is it possible to have an Easter-themed website that doesn't make the webmaster look like a girl?
Answer: No.

Hit refresh. My Easter theme is up.
