Welcome To My Home...
June 27, 2003For Those Still With Us... It's been a while. But let's not dwell on that. It's summer. You've no doubt sensed a bit of change at the site by now, so here's the story. I'll give you the long version, of course. I'm sure you've heard of the RIAA's newest plan to encourage American consumers to buy their CD's - they've decided now to start suing their customer base. I won't bother you with whether I think that's a good idea or not. We're all intelligent enough to develop our own opinions. Anyway, as a sort of reflex response to all this RIAA nonsense, I headed over to mp3.com and downloaded about three gigs of music. ...But I feel I may have gotten ahead of myself in this story. Bear with me. As you know, I had been planning on changing the layout of my page to a new-stuff-on-top type of a deal for a while. (You know that because I told you a couple comments down). I still have no idea how I'm going to work this thing or archive anything, so we'll call this current incarnation of my site "new-stuff-on-top-type-of-deal BETA." That means that it'll probably change, and it may even revert entirely back to it's former self. But until then, keep posting comments, and they'll now be proudly displayed, along with your dashing picture, on the top of this page. Although truthfully, I may lose the picture thing really soon, here. I'm thinking that I'll be by far the predominant poster, and I just really don't want to see my face, handsome as it may be, that much. I'm sure some of you are with me on that one. But like I said, everything's somewhat tentative right now, because I wanted to get this new format up and going as soon as possible. See, I was sitting here today, listening to some of the countless hours of free music that I'd just burdened my impacted hard drive with from mp3.com, and just like that, I was introduced to Paul Spaeth, an absolutetly incredible independent artist. Of course, then, I had to run back to my website (it's a short run) and encourage all of you to download some of his music. And here we are. That's not just some idle suggestion, either. It's not like I just blow every little thing out of proportion so I have something to write about here (well, not always). I completely overhauled my entire comment system just so I'd be able to slip in a quick link for Paul's music. And then I ended up writing like two pages for it. I guess we can thank the RIAA for that. ![]()
July 24, 2003Well, Nevermind That Perhaps a new format would've worked had I actually updated it periodically. But since that apparently didn't happen, it's back to the tried and true for the time being. I'd rather just copy and paste my page back to its old format than try to figure out what the heck I was trying to do nearly a month ago. ![]() |
