The concept was to paint a medieval character who personifies evil.

The bottom one's done with painter's pastels, the middle one with the liquid ink brushes, and the top one with a variety of brushes (although I found myself favoring the acrylics and digital watercolor).

Both painted in Painter 9.5, this is my first experience using the program. The first one one is done with digital watercolor, the second with Painter's oil brushes.
