A Trip of Wild Goats
To say I was disappointed after my first Halloween at college when I was prevented from
putting together a 2002 haunt would be a massive understatement. I spent that
Halloween night, instead, watching mindless low-budget zombie movies in the TSU theater and
wandering through the student union haunted house, which consisted almost entirely
(I kid you not) of inflated rubber gloves hanging by strings from the ceiling. I
vowed then that next year I would make a haunt in the face of any circumstances.
Looking back, my exact wording seems to have been "a trip of wild goats and their mothers
won't be able to stop me."
When registration finally rolled around that summer, I did everything in my power to
avoid having classes on Friday. Unlike last year, I would be able to come home for this
Halloween, and that made all the difference.
